In this episode we talk about Brazil with Douglas McRae. With the election of Bolsonaro I thought it important to talk about the history of Brazil. Douglas is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History at Georgetown University with a focus on the history of modern Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil, particularly urban and environmental matters. His dissertation research focuses on the history of water and sanitation in the São Paulo metropolitan area. Doug also worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) in Peru from 2008-2011 as a community health educator and a volunteer coordinator for the Community Health Program. He also considers himself fellow traveler and utilizes Marxist theory in his historical analysis.
